"Flavor Of Happiness"

I was looking for some documents when suddenly I saw these files from our Advertising Class during the semester before the last. This blog contains a part of our work. :)

The Client: ColdShack Ice Cream Station

Our Work:

"The incredible happiness that ice cream can bring is incomparable to any day-to-day products that we oftentimes use. It may seem safe to conclude that most of us love ice cream, such that it is an essential ingredient of a happy party or a simple gathering of family and friends.

Meanwhile, it is widely accepted that Nagueños - known residents of Naga City, dubbed as "An Maogmang Lugar" (The Happy Place), are fond of eating varieties of foods from all sorts. Proofs are numerous dining places spread across its vibrant centro. No wonder that some ice cream parlors or even just flee stores of ice cream are a big click to Nagueños. And when there was ColdShack Ice Cream Station (Read: ColdShack literaly means a cold place), it has not been bringing shivering competition to its few counterparts but also heart-melting happiness it distinctively knows.

It is then the commitment of technix advertising to translate happiness into something that Nagueños would really be very happy about. This blog, then, contains the story behind the production of 6(six) print advertisements only for ColdShack Ice Cream Station.

The agency hopes that as you enjoy the advertisements, you would savor happines like you've never been so happy in your life..only in Coldshack Ice Cream Station."

The Creative Execution:

We made 6 Print Advertisements for ColdShack Ice Cream Station.

"SMIRKY SMILE"
In this photograph, happiness is conveyed through a child holding his ice cream
and about to enjoy it - as if it's his flavor of happiness.

"INNOCENTLY HAPPY"

A candid shot, this picture is a perfect capture of happiness
in every child brought by ice cream.

"WITHIN MY REACH"

Happiness is indeed a scoop and spoonful away in ColdShack Ice Cream Station.
So, why be sad if you can be happy in just a spoon of ice cream.

"SPLIT"
In ColdShack, ice cream makes people split their hearts out with happiness
that only ice cream can bring.

"MOUNTAIN"

Truly in the place of happy people, there is no ice cream that can jive
with the happiness that ColdShack can give.

"ULTIMATE"

It has been said that the ultimate form of happiness
is something that touches the heart. In ColdShack, it's more than that...

We did it.
From thinking of our company(group) name to client searching..
From brainstorming to execution..
From photo shooting to editing..
From defense to printing..
We did it. We passed.

To my groupmates (Cha, Daks, Dano, Mae and Marshal). Thank you.

We wouldn't have done this without each other and as I write this, I'm missing you guys.

Thank you. :)

Pacquiao And Hatton: The Fight

Since everybody's talking about it, it sure won't hurt to talk about it too.
Pacquiao did it again. He surprised the world again. I have to admit that I was one of the millions that
was glued to the television to watch the fight of the year, I should now say.

Everybody talks about Pacquiao with Batista included in the entourage.
Everybody talks about the celebrities inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, talks about international celebrities taking a chance at having a picture with Pacquiao.
Everybody talks about how Pacquiao knocked out Hat
ton.
Everybody ta
lks about Pacquiao's victory.

Everybody talks about them but nobody dares to talk about the reality of it. What's so special and amazing about two people with customized gloves made to punch his opponent with hopes
of hurting him for the chance of winning? What's so special about personalized mouthpieces that shows or even jumps out of the mouth after a hard punch? About tailored shorts and branded shoes? What's special about two human beings boxing each other, ruining the face of each other while everybody in the ringside, those that chose to pay for a live show and those that stayed at home to watch the delayed broadcast shouts after every punch is thrown? There is nothing really special about them. With the Filipinos' active and obvious support to thier kababayan and with the Europeans' loyal support to their countryman everything seemed to be coiled in a box and every punch given by each is a equivalent to shouts and screaming from their kababayan's and countrymen. A victory of one is a National celebration - a celebration for winning against the other and maybe a celebration for winning the bet.

Hatton may have lost but he made the fight 'The Fight'. Without him, Pacquiao's victory wouldn't be as glorious as it is. For you Hatton, it pays to loose sometimes to know what real victory is all about. Remember, it takes one brave looser for a winner to be declared.

Whatever it is, the unity among the Filipinos and Europeans during Pacquiao and Hattons fight will always be something special and the honor that this man called Pacman brought to the Philippines has no equivalent, it only makes all the Filipinos in the east or west, north or south, proud be Filipinos. With all the Filipinos in the world, I am proud to be one! Congratulations Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao! :)

Lines From Paolo

Hi guys! Let me take this technology-given chance to stay connected with you even if it remains virtual.

I have this pleasure of sharing with you some encouraging and motivating lines from a book I have just read. Describing the lines as inspirational would be bulls eye. Everybody knows that I don’t read a lot (at least for now) but a glance from a book by Paolo Coelho pushed me to finish his book, cover to cover. Whoa! Aside from the not-so-famous book of Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code), which I also finished reading not because of it being famous but because I had a skin allergy that I had to stay home for two weeks and reading was the only thing I can do in bed, I also found interest in reading Paolo Coelho. I mean I was not at all enticed to read it at first. I do not know why my cousin spends so much time reading Paolo Coelho. I think it’s way too boring to sit at one corner and read a thick book and imagining myself at a corner with a book is hilarious. Haha.

Anyway, one day I saw the book that my cousin was reading on the table. I took it and flipped the pages and had a glance of what’s inside it. I was about to close and drop the book back to where it was originally placed when suddenly I read this line that made me open the book again and read as it was placed there “I have always been true. I don't play the role that others chose for me.” Paolo Coelho has a point and I found myself nodding at his thought. Life is not a one-act-play, it’s about playing the game with the rules that’s familiar to us. The nodding continued with the next lines I have read without noticing that I was then finished reading the first page. I flipped the page to the next, to the next, and to the next page. This is something you don't see everyday. Haha. I can remember this line, “I know if I wait for the ideal moment, I will never set off. In this life, it is impossible to foresee everything.” I agree. A hundred percent. How about you? Oftentimes we take so much time at thinking about doing one thing and realizing at the end that we haven’t done anything at all. We’ll sit at one corner and think what could have happened had we done the things we wanted before.

Here are some other lines which I found interesting: “ I always remember the rules of combat, set down by Chuan Tzu three thousand years ago. Faith: Before going into the battle, you must believe in the reasons of the fight. Companions: Choose your allies and learn to fight in company, for no one ever won a war single handedly. Time: A battle in winter is different from a battle in summer; a good warrior is careful to select the right moment to begin a fight. Space: One does not fight in the same way in a mountain pass as one would on a plain. Think about your surroundings and how best to move around them. Strategy: The best Warrior is the one who plans his fight. “

The book said so much and I have heard them all. What seemed to a boring hobby turned to be a meaningful one. Maybe with some books like this and that of Dan Brown, I will learn to love reading inch by inch. Now I know why my cousin spends so much of her time on reading Paolo Coelho. You gotta read it too and believe me when I say it's worth a try. :)
